At first I was shocked when I heard this statement, but I think it is an indicator of how right we are and how wrong the Georgian Dream is, Swedish MP Gustaf Göthberg said in an interview with TV Pirveli regarding the statement of the parliamentary majority leader Irakli Kirtskhalia about Sweden.
According to Göthberg, the members of the Georgian Dream are “proving lies.”
“Look at the comments of the members of parliament, they are talking complete nonsense, they are lying and proving lies. Of course, Sweden had problems with crime, but we saw that last month in Sweden was the first in several years without murders and fatal cases, because the government is implementing reforms and trying to fight crime. This is how we work in democratic countries. We do not fight our opponents during protests, with chemical weapons on the streets, which is what we are seeing now in Georgia. This is the main difference. It is from the Kremlin's playbook to divert attention from the main problems to other, less pressing issues," said Gustav Göthberg.
For information, in his speech at the plenary session, the leader of the parliamentary majority, Irakli Kirtskhalia, while speaking about the activation of the OSCE “Moscow Mechanism”, focused on Sweden.
“We are concerned that discriminatory and hate crimes have increased extremely in Sweden. It is worrying that the level of risk of organized crime has increased in the large cities of your country and, in general, the crime rate in Sweden has increased. It is worrying that gang shootings and explosions in Sweden have steadily increased over the past few years. We are concerned about the economic stagnation in your country and the fact that the Swedish economy is facing difficulties due to high inflation, weak domestic demand and household debt. It is also worrying that, unfortunately, your citizens have to wait a long time to receive treatment.
Unlike you, our concerns are based on "facts, statistics and objective data," Kirtskhalia said.
