Maka Botchorishvili on OSCE “Moscow Mechanism” – We have nothing to hide – if anyone is interested in what Georgia is doing, they should come, talk to everyone and assess the processes – how objective they will be is another matter

Our government protects the best interests of its people and the country. If, within the framework of certain OSCE mechanisms, anyone is interested in what Georgia is doing, they can come, see, talk to everyone and assess the processes, - Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili stated while speaking about the OSCE “Moscow Mechanism”.

The Foreign Minister spoke about the “unfair attitude towards Georgia and attempts to use various international organizations as an instrument of political pressure” by some OSCE member states.

"Georgia is a country that has security challenges, and of course, membership in an organization that should primarily work on security issues is important to us. Our conscientious attitude as a member state of the organization has always been worthy of note.

The Georgian government considers the criticism that comes from a number of member states, mainly the EU member states, to be completely unfair. We have seen that these actors are trying to use various international organizations as an instrument of certain political pressure. We have seen the use of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for these purposes, I will not talk about the European Parliament anymore, today we see attempts to use the OSCE. I had a conversation about this within the framework of the OSCE ministerial, and then I even voiced that we must do everything to prevent this from happening. However, we see that several countries are making attempts," said Maka Botchorishvili.

As she noted, the Georgian side is ready to share its views with OSCE representatives at any time.

"We are open and have nothing to hide. Our government protects the best interests of its people and the country. And if, within the framework of certain OSCE mechanisms, someone is interested in what Georgia is doing, they can come, see, talk to everyone and assess the processes. How objective the experts they select will be and how objectively they will assess all this is another matter. But from our side, if anyone is interested, we are ready to share our opinions on any issue," the Minister of Foreign Affairs said on Imedi TV.
