Georgian Ambassador to US hosts representatives of US Department of State

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United States Tamar Taliashvili hosted representatives of the US Department of State - Senior Advisor for Policy Planning Jonathan Askonas and Special Assistant Charles Yockey at the Embassy of Georgia, the Embassy of Georgia to the United States reports.

“The Georgian side once again expressed its readiness to reset relations with the United States and emphasized the importance of renewing the strategic partnership between the two countries.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed current issues of bilateral relations between Georgia and the United States. The role of Georgia as a regional connector was noted and the transport potential of the Middle Corridor was discussed. The conversation touched on ongoing and developing processes at the international level and emphasized the importance of peace and stable development in the region.

The American side confirmed its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia,” reads the embassy’s statement.
