Maritime Transport Agency issues statement regarding SILVAR vessel entering Kulevi port

The Maritime Transport Agency has issued a statement stating that the information disseminated by "ifact" about the allegedly "suspicious" history of the vessel SILVAR (IMO 9291262) that entered the port of Kulevi is "untrue, is another piece of disinformation and a continuation of the campaign against the state."

The Transport Agency notes that the vessel operates in a legally sound and controlled system - it has an identified owner and operator, holds a valid class with Lloyd's Register (United Kingdom) and is insured with valid P&I and Hull & Machinery insurance.

“The vessel has passed the Paris MoU inspection in the Skagen strait, Kingdom of Denmark (Paris MoU region) on December 5, 2025 and has not been detained.

As a result of the multi-level inspection conducted by the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency, no sanction or legal restrictions were identified (UN, US, UK, EU).

During 2025, it will move to the ports of: Egypt, Singapore, India, South Korea, China and Russia.

We emphasize that interpretations based on unverified information and ignorance of official facts aim to harm state interests, which is unacceptable.

The Georgian Maritime Transport Agency once again confirms that Georgian ports are not and cannot be used to evade international sanctions and all procedures are fully compliant with applicable national and international obligations,” reads the statement.
