MIA: Man accused of killing his wife in Gardabani detained - he turned himself in to police and confessed to the crime

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a person who inflicted multiple stab wounds on his wife in Gardabani using a cold weapon has been detained.

The Ministry reports that law enforcement officers arrested F.A., born in 1988, as the accused. The weapon used in the crime - a knife - has been seized as material evidence.

“Employees of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained F.A., born in 1988, on charges of intentional murder of a family member.

The investigation established that the accused inflicted multiple stab wounds with a cold weapon on his wife, M.G., born in 2000, in the Gardabani municipality. The victim died at the scene as a result of the injuries sustained.

The accused voluntarily presented himself to the police and confessed to the crime.

Law enforcement officers detained F.A. as the accused. The weapon used in the commission of the crime - a knife - has been seized as evidence.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 11¹, Article 109, subparagraph ‘k’ of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carries a sentence of 20 years to life imprisonment,” the statement reads.
