Kakha Kaladze: It’s a catastrophe! The European bureaucracy is in a very serious state - it needs rebranding!

“It’s a catastrophe! The European bureaucracy is in a very difficult situation and needs rebranding,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze told journalists.

According to him, if you ask the European people what they think of the European bureaucracy, you will hear their true assessment.

“Regarding the European path, we have repeatedly stated that this direction is very important, despite obstacles and unfair treatment toward our country.

If we look at the European bureaucracy, everyone will agree that it is in an extremely difficult state. Even more interestingly, if you ask the European people how they feel about the European bureaucracy, you will hear their genuine opinions. It’s a catastrophe! The European bureaucracy is in a very serious condition and clearly needs renewal - a ‘rebranding,’” Kaladze said.

Kaladze also responded to a statement by “Neutral Georgia,” which called on Rustavi 2 and Imedi to organize debates on Georgia’s European integration as soon as possible. He emphasized that “Georgian Dream” does not shy away from any topic. There is no subject in which they cannot participate in discussion.

In addition, he spoke to journalists about Georgia being approached by the Council of Europe to share experiences in countering foreign interference.

“This is a typical double standard. Why did we adopt the ‘Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence’? In recent years, we saw funds coming from abroad in a non-transparent manner, influencing the country’s internal politics. This is very serious. Every self-respecting, developed country would respond to this. Transparency is crucial. It is important for everyone to know where the money comes from and what specific projects it supports,” Kaladze noted.
