In reality, there is no education reform - there is a plan to subjugate education to political control being implemented by “Georgian Dream,” and this is something everyone must oppose, said Levan Tsutskiridze, one of the leaders of “Freedom Square,” while speaking about the so-called education reform.
According to him, this is a shared problem and a common concern.
“In reality, there is no education reform - there is a plan to subjugate education to political control being implemented by ‘Georgian Dream.’ This is something everyone must oppose. This is an issue that no longer has party divisions or differences in political taste - either we will have a normal, free, and civilized education system that is part of the international community, or we will have an isolated, party-controlled school system. Of course, we will all oppose this - both ‘Freedom Square’ and the academic community. This is a shared problem and a common concern,” Tsutskiridze said.
When asked how effective the ongoing meetings at the Ministry of Education might be, Tsutskiridze responded that it is difficult for him to assess their effectiveness, as he does not trust “Georgian Dream,” which he described as a “pathological liar.”
“It is hard to say, because I have no trust in these people whatsoever. ‘Georgian Dream’ is a pathological liar, and I cannot recall a single instance when it made a promise and did not break its word. They cannot be trusted, and this is how I view this process - they must be removed from power, and that will resolve many of the problems we are facing,” Tsutskiridze added.
