Prosecutor's Office files new charges against Nika Melia

The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has charged Nika Melia with contempt of court, the Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia said in a statement.

According to the agency, Melia verbally abused the judge.

“The investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that on November 10, 2025, at an administrative court hearing held at the Tbilisi City Court, Nikanor Melia committed contempt of court, which was expressed by verbally insulting the judge.

Nikanor Melia was charged under Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (contempt of court, which was expressed by insulting the judge), which provides for up to 2 years of imprisonment as the form and measure of punishment.

Since Nikanor Melia is serving a sentence based on a guilty verdict in another criminal case, the Prosecutor’s Office is petitioning the court to schedule a pre-trial hearing,” the statement reads.
