Today, Armenia is signing critically important security and energy cooperation agreements with the US and receiving the largest American investment in high-tech infrastructure projects, which will become a prerequisite for economic growth and employment; but, in Georgia, which has turned into a swamp, Anaklia and all other megaprojects, which the US, the European Commission and the World Bank alike perceive as projects of the highest priority, which were supposed to create Georgian jobs, enhance Georgian national security and stimulate the growth of the Georgian economy, are stalled. Instead, today Armenia and Azerbaijan are the symbol and reality of a new peace, transit and economic union, the cradle of megaprojects, the homeland of new transit routes. While impoverished Georgia listens to Russian-style propaganda about non-existent peace and unprotected sovereignty, this is precisely the anatomy of sabotage and betrayal. Against the background of fundamentally changing security, trade, transit and geopolitics frameworks in the South Caucasus region and the Black Sea region, when a new Caucasian architecture is being born, Georgia no longer sits at any table where its fate is decided. And as the famous saying goes, “If you are not at the table, you are on the menu.”

This is a geopolitical catastrophe for a nation that has been waiting for centuries for just such a moment, which would make it possible to take the right foreign policy steps towards lasting peace, stability and prosperity.
