Temporary Parliamentary Commission proposes Parliament to invite international company to study prices

The Temporary Parliamentary Commission is proposing to the Chairman of Parliament to invite an international company to discuss prices. The initiative was put to a vote at the Commission session and was supported by all members.

According to the Chairman of the Commission, Shota Berekashvili, at this stage, the study is only focused on the food and consumer goods sectors.

According to him, a tender will be announced to select an international company.

"We have an initiative to address the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia with the initiative that the Parliament, in parallel with the work of our commission, invite an international company that has good experience, so to speak, in the sector of primary consumption goods and food products. Let's invite the company to study the structure of our sector, business processes, what problems there are, compare the market structure with similar countries like Georgia, with other countries, and write its recommendations. I think this will be a very good step, because in parallel with the work of our commission, we will also have a document seen from a different perspective, evaluated from the outside, which will essentially, significantly help the work of our commission and reach a conclusion," Berekashvili said.
