Mikheil Kavelashvili holds bilateral meeting with Croatian President

Mikheil Kavelashvili held a one-on-one meeting with the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović.­

Kavelashvili hosted his Croatian counterpart at the Presidential Palace.

According to the press service, during the bilateral meeting, the leaders discussed current issues in the bilateral relationship, prospects for deepening cooperation, and ongoing global developments.

“The meeting emphasized the existing friendly ties, cultural closeness, and shared values, which provide a solid foundation for further development of relations,” the press service stated.

Kavelashvili highlighted that Croatia’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is highly valued. He also stressed that Georgia firmly supports Croatia’s territorial integrity.

The colleagues also discussed economic relations and sectoral cooperation between the two countries.

Zoran Milanović’s visit to Georgia marks the first presidential-level visit, which, as noted during the meeting, provides an additional impetus for deepening bilateral dialogue and cooperation across all areas of shared interest.

The Croatian president is visiting Georgia with a delegation that includes: Bartol Šimunić, Head of the President’s Cabinet; Neven Pelicarić, Presidential Adviser on Foreign and European Affairs; Velibor Mačkić, Special Presidential Adviser on Economic Affairs; Branko Zebić, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Croatia to Georgia; and representatives of the Presidential Administration.
