Law enforcement officers have detained three minors who stole goods and cash from one of the branches of “Nikora Trade.” According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all three minors were arrested based on a court order.

“Employees of the Main Division for Juvenile Affairs of the Tbilisi Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained three minors — L.S., born in 2010, M.Kh., born in 2008, and D.G., born in 2009 — on charges of theft and robbery committed as a group.

One of the detained minors has a prior conviction for robbery and has previously been identified in connection with another robbery case, while another defendant had been identified by law enforcement in relation to a theft case.

The investigation established that the minors, acting in prior agreement and as a group, unlawfully appropriated various goods of different value, as well as cash, from one of the Tbilisi-based branches of ‘Nikora Trade,’ after which they fled the scene.

The investigation also determined that one of the detained minors unlawfully took up to 800 GEL from a branch of the ‘Ori Nabiji’ retail chain in Tbilisi.

As a result of оперативe measures and investigative actions carried out promptly, officers of the Main Division for Juvenile Affairs detained all three minors as defendants based on a court order.

The investigation is underway under Parts 2 and 3 of Article 178, as well as Part 2 of Article 177 of the Criminal Code, which envisage a penalty of up to 8 years of imprisonment,” the statement reads.
