The preamble to the supreme law of the Georgian state - the Constitution of our country - states that we must strengthen state independence, establish a democratic social order, economic freedom and a social, legal state. This is an oath that our people have taken before themselves and future generations, and it is natural that state institutions are imbued with this responsibility, - Mikheil Kavelashvili stated when presenting his annual report to Parliament.
As he noted, the history of Georgia has shown that the struggle for the homeland, faith and truth is without alternative.
“Today, the state firmly defends Georgia’s sovereignty, national interests and the fundamental values that define the essence of our statehood.
For centuries, our people have been writing the history of a small, yet dignified and proud country with their perseverance, strength and faith; for many centuries, the Georgian people have been creating a unique culture that is unique to us, which, together with our history, is a visible example of who we were, who we are and what we strive for.
Our centuries-old history has shown us that the struggle for our homeland, faith and truth is without alternative, as evidenced by the fact that we not only survived, but also preserved our national identity and identity! This is the path that our ancestors walked, therefore, each of us, each citizen of Georgia, is obliged to follow this path faithfully,” he said.
According to him, for the long-term development of Georgia, it is necessary that the starting point for future generations be love for their homeland.
“Today, we are already responsible for what the future of Georgia will be like and what kind of country we want to build for our children.
For the long-term development of Georgia, it is necessary that the starting point for future generations be love for their homeland, awareness of sovereignty and independence, respect for family values and traditions.
Against the backdrop of global challenges, it is of utmost importance that the state, within its capabilities, ensure the upbringing of physically healthy, critically thinking and internationally competitive young people, for whom the feeling of freedom will be closely related to the homeland,” Kavelashvili said.
