“Strong Georgia - Lelo responsibly treats the trust of the Georgian society and any type of opposition coordination. Our goal remains unchanged — a democratic change of the governing system in the country peacefully, through elections. However, political responsibility obliges us to evaluate each initiative not emotionally, but strategically.

Considering the need for cooperation between pro-Western parties, a result-oriented, pragmatic necessity, we consider it necessary to offer the public an alternative choice in the opposition as well.

Political unity should be based on trust, consistency, and the practice of fulfilling agreements. In recent years, we have repeatedly offered the democratic forces formats of systemic unity — the idea of ​​an alternative parliament, consolidation around the presidential charter, a model of non-partisan national unity. In each case, the process was stopped or failed.

As a result, the idea and the trust of the society united around this idea were damaged, as well as the entire opposition spectrum.

Unity should not be an end in itself. Unity is a tool for achieving a specific political goal. If the goal is to defeat the ruling system, this requires a strong, diverse, responsible, independent opposition spectrum.
