According to Giorgi Shaishmelashvili, the prosecutor in the murder case of Niko Kvaratskhelia, Besarion (Busa) Zhvania — who is accused of organizing the killing — has not officially crossed the state border of Georgia.
The prosecutor made this statement to the TV company “Formula.”
Shaishmelashvili stated that he is unaware of the current whereabouts of the accused.
“Busa Zhvania has not officially left the country, and I do not know where he is,” the prosecutor said.
For reference, Guram Kakulia, Davit Kakulia, and Besarion (Busa) Zhvania have been charged with organizing the contract killing of Niko Kvaratskhelia in a group. The charges were brought under Articles 25 and 109, Part 2, Subparagraph “e,” and Part 3, Subparagraph “g” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which предусматриes a sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
