Details emerge about the traffic accident in Gurjaani Municipality that claimed the lives of three minors

Additional details are becoming known about the traffic accident in Gurjaani Municipality, in which three teenagers died.

According to locals, the teenagers had gone to the Church of the Holy Trinity in the village and were returning from there when the tragedy occurred, with a 14-year-old child behind the wheel.

“This is such a misfortune that words are powerless. This news has devastated us. It happened last evening at around 10:00 PM, and everyone is in shock. A 14-year-old child, Merab Shinjikashvili, was behind the wheel. He always drove this child around in the car, sometimes even a tractor. This wasn’t his first time. We can’t say exactly what happened there.

The car caught fire; there were five people in total. Two managed to jump out, the children have broken ribs, and three minors — Saba, Merab, andGvantsa — perished. It’s an unimaginable event. Saba and Merab were cousins, and the deceased girl Gvantsa was their cousin; she had come from the city, and this great tragedy has befallen us. The village is in mourning; everyone is devastated,” locals told AMBEBI.GE.

The accident occurred late at night in the village of Melani. According to locals, a passenger car with five people inside overturned after a collision and caught fire. Two managed to escape the burning vehicle, but three did not make it out in time.
