The Georgian Dream is introducing amendments to the newly adopted election legislation.
The amendments initiated in the Parliament concern international election observers.
The Election Code will stipulate that an international observer can only be a citizen of a foreign country - from the age of 18. The draft also defines the procedures for registering an interpreter accompanying international observers.
According to the same amendments, the rules for photo, video and audio-monitoring of the session by a person at an election commission session will be determined by a resolution of the Central Election Commission.
The initiators of the amendments to the Election Code are members of the Legal Issues Committee.
For information, in December 2025, the Parliament adopted the new edition of the Election Code prepared by the Georgian Dream. The new Election Code has changed and regulated a number of rules related to elections.
