Estonia's Ambassador to Georgia, Marghe Mardisalu-Kahar, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia in connection with the statement she made on social media regarding one of Georgia's universities, - this is stated in the announcement of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgi Zurabashvili, the Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia was requested to provide an explanation "as to what purpose her such action served."
"The First Deputy Minister emphasized that such a statement by Estonia's Ambassador is aimed at politicizing the ongoing reform in the field of education, which is unacceptable and represents an attempt to interfere in the country's internal affairs.
The Ambassador was explained that if the Estonian side is interested in the education reform ongoing in Georgia, it has the opportunity to hold consultations at the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, where it will receive comprehensive information on this matter," - the statement reads, which is disseminated by the Georgian Foreign Ministry.
