Embassy of Georgia in Israel addresses Georgian citizens in the country with recommendations

The Embassy of Georgia in Israel is warning and providing recommendations to Georgian citizens. In a statement disseminated on social media, it is noted that due to security measures, when the "red alert" signal is activated, it is necessary to follow the instructions of the local authorities, including seeking shelter if required.

"To the attention of Georgian citizens!

Taking into account the current situation, when the security environment is difficult, due to the prevailing circumstances, we remind you of the recommendations to follow in case of escalation.

When the "red alert" signal is activated, it is necessary to follow the instructions of the local authorities:

  • Immediately seek shelter (it is preferable to know in advance the location of the nearest shelter or protected space);
  • While in a building, close doors and windows and enter the protected space inside the building;
  • If on the street - if a special shelter is not nearby, lie face down on the ground and cover your head with your hands;
  • If in a vehicle - stop the car on the roadside, get out, and seek the nearest shelter. If you cannot find such a place, lie face down on the ground and cover your head with your hands.

Also, we warn that, according to the recommendations of the local government, it is prohibited for citizens to gather at building entrances;

10 minutes after the end of the alert signal, in the absence of other instructions, you may leave the building;

It is prohibited to approach a downed aircraft or any similar object. If such an object is present, inform the police.

For persons in Israel for tourism purposes, in the event of an alert signal, they should refrain from leaving their hotel and moving to tourist sites.

Avoid all gathering places!

Avoid places with a high concentration of law enforcement officers!
