In Tbilisi, the glass of one of the windows of the consular section of the Embassy of Iran was smashed. This information is disseminated by the Ambassador of Iran in Georgia, Seyed Ali Mojani.
As the Ambassador writes on social media, the incident occurred yesterday.
According to the Ambassador's explanation, the perpetrator of the crime has already been detained.
"Last night, due to the unlawful act of one reckless Iranian, the glass of one of the windows of the consular section of the Embassy was smashed. Immediately after this incident, the State Security Service arrived on site, acted precisely and professionally, and detained the perpetrator.
Following this, the criminal police of Tbilisi arrived at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tbilisi and began the process of assessing the extent of the damage for compensation purposes and taking legal measures against this perpetrator.
In accordance with Georgian legislation, the mentioned person will remain in custody for six months; after paying the fine, he will be deported from Georgia and deprived of the right to return to this country.
The responsible, firm, and law-abiding conduct of the State Security Service deserves praise. This professional approach clearly demonstrates the loyalty of Georgian institutions to the law, respect for the security of diplomatic missions, and international rules.
