"Against the background of the developing events, I have a desire to meet with official representatives from the Georgian government," stated Israel's Ambassador to Georgia, H.E. Walid Abu Hayam.
The ambassador expressed hope that the meeting will take place soon.
"Currently, several thousand Israelis are in Georgia, and they like being here. I am sure they are very worried about what is happening in their homeland, but right now Israel's airspace is closed. When flights resume, we will take care of them. There are Georgian citizens in Israel as well, and I want them to know that we are protecting not only our own citizens but everyone who is in Israel. We are in contact with the Georgian Embassy in Tel Aviv, and they also have communication with Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem. If they need anything, they will receive maximum assistance.
Against the background of the developing events, I have a desire to meet with official representatives from the Georgian government. I have not met with them so far, but I hope this will happen soon," Israel's Ambassador to Georgia told Formula TV.
