Iranian Ambassador to Georgia - Iran is not a country that can be considered weak or easily perceived as a country that can be brought to its knees by war very soon - Trump has found himself in an endless war

Iran did not start the war. Both in the summer of 2025 and in the winter of 2026, we were engaged in the negotiation process and suddenly we found ourselves the object of attack, - the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia Seyed Ali Mojani said at the press conference.

According to him, the main problem of today's world is that it does not have a correct assessment of the fragile situation in the region.

"At a time when the war in Ukraine is still ongoing, the lack of a realistic assessment can lead us to a catastrophe. Maritime transportation is disrupted, political crises are taking place in Latin America, a kind of tariff war has begun in the world economy, and in such a situation, the explosion of the Middle East region will cause a kind of domino principle and can spread to many regions. An hour after the attack, the Islamic Republic of Iran took defensive steps. Iran has the right to self-defense, which is determined by the principles of international law and the UN Charter. Immediately after the start of military operations, I had a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and accordingly informed the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I also stated in the Foreign Ministry that our defense capabilities, our armaments allow us to mobilize our forces and defend the country even in an hour. We defend ourselves and have no desire to create nuclear weapons, nor are we afraid of what might happen if we destroy any American base in any country in the region. When we learned that American bombers were taking off from Kuwait, we decided to bomb that very place. America has misused the territories of our neighboring countries against Iran. The targets of our attacks are not neighboring countries, but American military bases, logistics centers and intelligence facilities located in these neighboring countries. Iran is not a country that can be considered weak or easily perceived that Iran can be brought to its knees by war very soon. We always strive for peaceful coexistence and peace in the region and, first of all, we defend our territory, land and dignity. We are fighting on our territory, and the enemy is outside our borders. Another enemy of Iran is Israel, which dragged America into this war and cost American taxpayers a lot of money. The Israeli regime killed more than 50 thousand civilians, women and children. Yesterday, Netanyahu said that we started the war in such conditions that the birth of a new Shiism and Sunnism is taking place, and this is already a harbinger of a religious war. Three or four weeks may be decisive for Trump, but time does not matter to us, we believe that Trump has found himself in an endless war and has dealt a rather big blow to the world economy. When this war ends, it will cause quite a big change in world geopolitics. I, as a representative of my country, believe that certain ways and mechanisms should be thought out so that the scale of the catastrophe does not increase. Unfortunately, international organizations cannot do anything,” the Iranian ambassador said.

As the ambassador noted in response to a question about radiation threats, Iran is also concerned about this issue, and in this context it is important that military operations end.

"It is natural that the International Atomic Energy Agency is really concerned about the fact that radioactive substances may be released as a result of military operations. Naturally, we are also concerned about this. Accordingly, unfortunately, there have been cases in the past when the agency's inspectors who entered Iran were actually Israeli and American agents and they were passing information to America and Israel, and now if we are convinced that they will actually send inspectors and that no information will be passed on to Israel or America, it will be possible to allow these inspectors to these facilities. In addition, there are no more flights and it will not be easy to bring these experts, so first of all, it is necessary to end these military operations," the Iranian ambassador said.
