State Security Service - Various individuals have voiced numerous reports about the recruitment of personnel from Georgia by other countries, including accusations or hints of terrorism - an investigation has been launched

Various individuals have publicly voiced a number of information about the recruitment of personnel from Georgia by other countries, including accusations or hints of terrorism. An investigation has been launched and the authors of the statements will be questioned in all directions, the State Security Service told InterpressNews.

According to the State Security Service, they are studying the content of the statements.

“In recent days, various individuals have publicly voiced a number of information about the recruitment of personnel from Georgia by other countries, including accusations or hints of terrorism.

We are closely monitoring and studying both the content of these statements, which contradict the factual data, and the motivation of their authors to accuse Georgia of similar issues, especially against the backdrop of the ongoing hostilities in the region and considering the fact that none of the authors of such statements has ever provided any information to the law enforcement agencies. An investigation has been launched and the authors of the statements will be questioned in all directions,” the Service told Interpressnews.

For information, former Minister of Defense, founder of the organization Civil Idea, Tina Khidasheli stated on TV Pirveli that “the so-called university, the school of terrorists, is practically operating illegally in Georgia, the rector of which was the person declared the successor to Ali Khamenei”.

In addition, Radio Liberty disseminated information about the study published on March 3 by the Hudson Institute. The co-authors of the study are Giorgi Kandelaki and Luke Coffey, and the study notes that “the Islamic Republic of Iran is expanding its influence and “infrastructure of influence” in Georgia”.
