History teaches us that it is precisely in difficult times that friendship, moral strength, and a clear stance against terror and violence are the values that strengthen ties between peoples. The friendship that exists between the Georgian and Jewish peoples and is based on mutual respect and common values must be manifested today, in particularly difficult times, - reads a statement issued by the Israeli Embassy in Georgia.
As the embassy states, true friendship between peoples is measured by their ability to distinguish between those who choose the path of life, stability, and cooperation, and those who choose the path of terror, extremism, and violence.
“Someone recently said: ‘A friend is known in times of need.’ Friendship is not only proven by kind words – it is tested in difficult times.
The terror perpetrated by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the State of Israel is not a new phenomenon. For decades, the Tehran regime, led by Ali Khamenei, has funded, armed, and supported organizations that operate against innocent Israelis and other civilians and undermine stability throughout the region. Our war and our fight are not against the Iranian people - people who have themselves suffered under the 47-year rule of this terrorist regime. It is against this very murderous regime.
We all wish and hope that soon everyone - Iranians, Israelis, and Iran's neighboring countries - will live in security and peace.
Israel will continue to protect its citizens and their right to live safely in their own country - just as any sovereign state would. History teaches us that it is precisely in difficult times that friendship, moral strength, and a clear stance against terror and violence are the values that strengthen ties between peoples.
True friendship between peoples is measured by their ability to distinguish between those who choose the path of life, stability, and cooperation, and those who choose the path of terror, extremism, and violence.
It is true that we cannot choose our neighbors, but we do choose our friends. The 2,600-year-old friendship that exists between the Georgian and Jewish peoples and is based on mutual respect and common values must be manifested even today, especially in difficult times,” reads the embassy statement.
