According to information from the Parliament of Georgia, Levan Makhashvili, Chairman of the Parliament's Committee on European Integration, together with Pere Joan Pons Sampietro, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and his accompanying delegation, visited the village of Khurvaleti near the occupation line.
As reported, Levan Makhashvili introduced the members of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly delegation to Russia's ongoing occupation of Georgia's regions and its negative consequences, the problems faced by the local population living on the ground, as well as the security challenges and threats to Georgia related to the occupation.
“The delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is led by President Pere Joan Pons Sampietro. The delegation also includes: OSCE PA Vice-President and Special Representative for the South Caucasus Luis Grasa, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Political Affairs and Security Jevrosima Pejović, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions Christine Blower, and OSCE PA Secretary General Roberto Montella,” — the information states.
