Kinkladze Foundation Launched in Georgia to Empower Youth and Promote Football
The Kinkladze Foundation has been established in Georgia with the goal of empowering young people, increasing children’s and teenagers’ participation in football, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The initiative was created through the partnership of legendary Georgian footballer Giorgi Kinkladze and businessman active in the field of sport Lasha Machavriani.
The foundation’s primary focus is on children and adolescents. Its mission is to ensure that football becomes not only a sport but also a platform where every child—regardless of their social background—has equal opportunities for development, self-expression, and realizing their potential.
The foundation will actively support the development of grassroots football, aiming to make the sport as accessible as possible throughout Georgia.
According to the foundation’s co-founder, Giorgi Kinkladze, sharing the love of football with children is a special mission for him.
“For me, football has always been about freedom and joy. By creating this foundation, I want to pass that feeling on to today’s children. Our goal is to steer young people away from the streets, inspire them to embrace a healthy lifestyle, and show them that with dedication and hard work, any dream is achievable. Football is the best teacher,” says Kinkladze.
The Kinkladze Foundation will be led by its co-founder and President, Georgian businessman, active in the field of sport Lasha Machavariani, who is also a long-time partner of Kinkladze.
According to Machavariani, the foundation’s key objective is to create greater opportunities for young people and strengthen support for their development.
“Our mission is to help young people realize their potential. We want to support talented children in finding their path, while also encouraging as many young people as possible to discover sport as an essential part of a healthy and active lifestyle. Every child who becomes involved in sport is part of a better future for our society,” Machavariani says.
SMH Global, founded by Lasha Machavariani, has been actively supporting the development of Georgian football for more than a decade. The creation of this charitable foundation in partnership with Giorgi Kinkladze marks another important step in the company’s commitment to contributing to the growth of sport—particularly football—in the country.
