According to Greek media, 22 Georgian citizens were on board the tanker that Iran struck in Iraqi territorial waters

As a result of the strike by Iran in Iraqi territorial waters, a fire broke out on the tanker owned by Greece - 22 Georgian citizens were on board the tanker, - Greek media reports.

According to the media, the tanker Zefyros, sailing under the Maltese flag, was conducting a ship-to-ship cargo transfer in Iraqi territorial waters when it was allegedly struck by an Iranian unmanned boat loaded with explosives.

After the attack, a fire broke out on the tanker, but it was extinguished by Iraqi fire services.

According to Greek media, all 22 crew members are safe, and they have been transferred to one of the Iraqi vessels.

Additionally, Iraq announced that during the night, besides Zefyros, an attack was also carried out on the tanker Safesea Vishnu sailing under the flag of the Marshall Islands.
