Law enforcement officers have arrested 15 individuals across the country at different times on charges of drug-related crimes.

As stated in the information disseminated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), substances seized as evidence include various types of narcotic drugs prepared for sale, among them: dried marijuana, mephedrone, cocaine, alpha-PVP, thebaine, methadone, and buprenorphine.

"Employees of the Tbilisi, Adjara, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Imereti, and Kvemo Kartli Police Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 15 individuals at various times on charges of drug-related crimes. Among the arrested are both Georgian citizens and citizens of foreign countries, as well as individuals previously convicted. They are charged with the illegal purchase-storage and facilitation of sale of narcotic substances in large and especially large quantities.

As a result of searches of the suspects' persons, residences, and auxiliary premises, as well as during investigative experiments where they indicated locations, law enforcement officers seized as evidence various types of narcotic substances prepared for sale, including: dried marijuana, mephedrone, cocaine, alpha-PVP, thebaine, methadone, and buprenorphine.

As a result of the investigative actions conducted, the police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotic substances and money presumably received from the sale of narcotics.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260¹ of the Criminal Code, which envisage imprisonment for up to 20 years or life imprisonment," the MIA's disseminated information states.
