Ambassadors from various countries, including Paweł Herczyński, Peter Fischer, and Gareth Ward, arrive at Sameba Cathedral

Representatives from various countries' embassies, including the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Paweł Herczyński, the German Ambassador Peter Fischer, and the United Kingdom Ambassador Gareth Ward, have arrived at the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral, where His Holiness and Beatitude, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, is lying in repose.

The Divine Liturgy is underway at the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral, celebrated by the Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne of All Georgia, Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri) of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, together with members of the Holy Synod of the Georgian Church.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, passed away at the age of 93.

The Patriarch will be buried today, March 22, at Sioni Cathedral.
