Players of the Georgia national football team visited the Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral in Tbilisi, where they paid tribute to the memory of the Patriarch.
At Sioni Cathedral, clergy are holding memorial services at the grave of His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, which will continue for 40 days.
The faithful can enter the cathedral and pay their respects at the Patriarch’s grave every day from 08:00 to 22:00. In addition, religious services are held daily in the cathedral.
For reference, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II passed away on March 17. Since March 18, a public memorial service had been held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, where thousands of citizens paid tribute to his memory.
Ilia II was laid to rest at the Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral on March 22.
