"We are optimistic that our relations and strategic cooperation with the United States of America will be restored and relaunched," – stated Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvriivishvili after her meeting with Peter Andreoli, representative of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
According to Kvriivishvili, she introduced the representative of the State Department to the development plans for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port.
"Within the framework of Peter Andreoli’s visit to Georgia, as the representative of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, we had the opportunity to present to him the development plans for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port. He also visited the territory of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port, where he was familiarized on-site with the ongoing progress and the plans that the state has regarding the development of this project," – noted the Economy Minister.
The Economy Minister assessed the meeting with the representative of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs as quite productive. The Georgian side once again clearly expressed its strong desire and positive expectations regarding the restoration of strategic partnership between the two countries, which will have a positive impact on the strengthening of trade and economic relations.
"We also discussed the investment opportunities that exist in Georgia in the above-mentioned sectors, especially in large-scale projects such as the modernization of the Georgian Railway, the construction of a new international airport, and the Black Sea underwater cable project. Of course, we are optimistic that our relations and strategic cooperation with the United States of America will be restored and relaunched," – stated Mariam Kvriivishvili.
