The camel will kneel at their door too, because radicals are not only in our countries, they are in their countries too, - Georgian Dream MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili stated, answering a question regarding the discussion of a document prepared by the Council of Europe Congress on Georgia.
According to him, their side already has an official answer that if “violent groups take a retaliatory step and realize that violent actions are unacceptable and illegal, then, theoretically, many humane acts will become possible in Georgia.”
"We have already responded and officially told them: if these perpetrators take a step and they understand that violent actions are unacceptable and illegal, many humane acts can theoretically be carried out in Georgia. But they say that they should continue this path of lawlessness and that this is freedom of expression, that if I set fire to the parliament - it is freedom of expression, that if I plan to storm the presidential palace - it is also freedom of expression. If they continue like this, nothing will happen. We tell them this too, we tell the radicals here and their patrons this. If someone tells us again with arguments that person X is being punished for freedom of expression, then, sir, they will be right. But at the same time, they did not appreciate the throwing of Molotov cocktails and the transfer of hundreds of police officers to hospitals due to their violent actions. The President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly gave them a good example. Take these steps and believe me, many more serious steps will be taken by the state, it won't work out any other way. This is not about whether I am in power or not. If the state says that you can freely invade official institutions and set fire to them, that state will not exist for long. This is why this will not happen and their owners should understand this. The camel will kneel at their door too, because radicals are not only in our countries, they are in their countries too," Sharmanashvili said.
For information, the Congress of the Council of Europe will discuss a report on Georgia on April 1, within the framework of its 50th session. The agenda of the Congress session states that the session will discuss a document prepared by the fact-finding mission after its visit to Georgia. They will discuss and vote on the draft resolution and the draft recommendation.
