Berdia Sitchinava - The judge did not attach the conclusion of the Moscow Mechanism to the June 20 case, but did attach the conclusion of the Tea Tsulukiani Commission

The judge did not attach the report of the Moscow Mechanism to the June 20 case, but did attach the conclusion of the Tea Tsulukiani Commission, - Berdia Sitchinava, Executive Secretary of the Gakharia For Georgia party, lawyer of party leader Giorgi Gakharia, stated.

According to the party’s press service, today, another hearing of the criminal case against Giorgi Gakharia in the June 20 case was held at the Tbilisi City Court.

According to them, during the trial, Gakharia’s lawyer, Berdia Sichinava, requested the attachment of the OSCE Moscow Mechanism report to the case, “which specifies that the cases against Giorgi Gakharia relating to the June 20 and Chorchana are political persecution of Gakharia and recommends the termination of politically motivated criminal cases.”

"You know that during today's trial, we requested the attachment of the report prepared within the framework of the "Moscow Mechanism", which directly states in black and white that Giorgi Gakharia is being persecuted for political reasons in connection with the June 20 and Chorchana cases, and for some reason, the report prepared within the framework of the OSCE mechanism was not found to be a reliable source for either the prosecutor's office or the court. However, we would like to remind you that assessment documents, such as Tsulukiani's conclusion, are more acceptable and reliable for the prosecutor's office than the special conclusion and report prepared by the OSCE mission," Berdia Sichinava said.
