According to the leader of the Strategy Builder, Giorgi Vashadze, the government’s statements about the resumption of the construction of the Anaklia port are “another lie”.
According to Vashadze, the implementation of the project has not started despite promises made over the years and the public is being misled.
As Vashadze noted on Palitranews, the Georgian Dream itself became the reason for the suspension of the project.
“Today we heard another lie. Do you really believe that the Anaklia port will be built? They were supposed to build it 2 years ago, they supposedly brought in a contractor, they supposedly held a tender, but nothing has been done. They said that they would resume the work processes to deceive people - this is a lie. Just as they have not done anything before, they will not do anything now. It is a lie that there were no American interests. The Dream stopped it. All the conditions were created to stop the Anaklia consortium. Moreover, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze were sentenced to prison,” Vashadze said.
Vashadze also spoke about Georgia-United States relations, saying that the Georgian Dream will not be able to “reset” relations within the country or with international partners, including the United States and Europe.
“It is a lie that relations with America will somehow improve. They have been selling this lie for several weeks in order to increase the negative mood of the public towards them, and now they want to somehow deceive, as if something is happening. I know exactly the DNA of the Georgian Dream, they are liars. They deceive people, just as they sold Kavelashvili’s handshake with Trump as a sign that we are starting a big reset, as they sold the visit of their first lady, something miraculous - we see that nothing came of all this. Accordingly, nothing can come of lies. As for Rubio's call, I am sure that there was also talk about what the Georgian side should do to restore relations. For this, Georgia needs to return to the path of democratic development - prisoners [release] and elections [appointment], "- said Vashadze.
