“Even today, the freedom and independence of Georgia, for which people sacrificed their lives 37 years ago, is in danger. Even today, people who stand on Rustaveli, do not stop protesting, and do not reconcile with the idea that Russia might take away our independence and freedom again, are fighting for these most precious and sacred values,” stated Tina Bokuchava, leader of the “National Movement,” at the April 9 Memorial in front of the Parliament.
According to Bokuchava, “today the country has a pseudo-government that is unable to protect the values for which people sacrificed their lives on April 9, 1989.”
“Moreover, today there are people imprisoned who are fighting to protect these core values,” Tina Bokuchava said.
