Iranian Ambassador: In the report I will present to Tehran today, I will propose ways of cooperation and relations with Georgia for the next 100-day period

“In the report that I will present to Tehran today, I will propose ways of cooperation and relations with Georgia for the next 100-day period,” writes Seyed Ali Moujani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia, in his statement.

In the statement, Ali Moujani talks about the recent developments in the region.

He also speaks about Georgia’s role in the region and notes that Georgia is located at the crossroads of important energy and transit routes and has the ability to play a significant role between East and West, as well as between North and South.

As the Iranian Ambassador states, in the report he will present to Tehran today, he will propose ways of cooperation and relations with Georgia for the next 100-day period, in the hope that these paths will contribute to the expansion of multifaceted economic cooperation, the strengthening of regional stability, and the development of ties between the peoples.

“Today marks the ninetieth day since the start of my mission as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia. I begin my working day in a situation where President Trump recently agreed to Iran’s ten conditions for stopping the war and starting negotiations.

The war that was waged by the Iranian people with universal, broad and comprehensive defense, public participation and solidarity against the aggression of the United States and Israel.

A war that created a new order in the regional balance of West Asia and whose impact on politics, economy and trade is evident.

A war that, by chasing airplanes, helicopters and drones, showed that Iran’s sky is no longer open, and now Europe’s sky is closed to America.

A war that showed that Iran’s strength does not depend on an atomic bomb.

A war that showed that victory cannot be celebrated with atomic power and crimes against humanity — for example, by attacking a girls’ elementary school.

A war that showed that Iran is a system, not just one person.

Today is the fortieth day since the martyrdom of Iran’s sons, and at 15:00 a commemorative event dedicated to their memory will be held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the participation of interested Iranian and Georgian persons.

Throughout this period, Iran defended the homeland and the lives of its people with faith in God. These are the three main principles of Patriarch Ilia II, which he has always called upon the Georgian people to follow.

The strategic value of the results achieved by Iran in the defense process was unimaginable for the aggressors. They tried to weaken and even destroy Iran through attack. But what happened made it clear that a civilization with deep roots cannot be destroyed by war. These are peoples who show their true strength in difficult moments.

During these 90 days, despite the fact that my country was engaged in a large-scale defensive war across a vast geographical area from the Mediterranean to the shores of the Indian Ocean, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Georgia continued to work in the same uninterrupted and systematic manner as all administrative structures in Iran.

Meetings and consultations with the Georgian authorities at various levels, with representatives of the media, providing consular services and assistance, and a detailed analysis of events in Iran and the region constituted only part of the mission of myself and my colleagues.

The experience of these ninety days, during which I left Georgia for two days on a short mission to receive instructions and returned, gave me the opportunity to get to know the situation in Georgia.

My first working mission to Georgia took place in 1992, a few months after the restoration of your country’s independence. Since then, until 90 days ago, when I assumed the management of relations in the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, I have visited Georgia several times on working visits.

After 90 days of uninterrupted work, in the report that I will write today for the official representatives of my state in Tehran, I will share valuable experience. A report that, in accordance with Iran’s law on the declassification of documents, will become available to the public after 30 years. Then young Georgian historians will be able to discover how our deep vision was formed in this new period.

A report that reflects the valuable experience of conversations and relations with various official political figures in Georgia, prominent public and cultural figures, and every worthy person.

People who, despite the diversity and difference of political views, are loyal to common ideals — national identity, peace, stability and Georgia’s economic well-being.

Georgia is located at the crossroads of important energy and transit routes and has the ability to play a significant role between East and West, as well as between North and South.

This bridge is important when:

  • It is connected to many highways;
  • Movement on it is possible without hindrance;
  • It has the advantage of low cost for sustainable and competitive transportation;
  • And......

When the Iranian government decided to send me to Tbilisi in the rank of Ambassador, I received a clear instruction from President Pezeshkian — to work towards complementary and the formation of a regional economy; for an economy based on cooperation, development and peaceful coexistence.

Throughout these 90 days, in various meetings with official figures of your country, representatives of parties or individual persons, I focused on the principles of constructive and responsible dialogue, bilateral or multilateral cooperation, rationality, and consideration of benefits and losses in international relations.

Principles that, taking into account Georgia’s role as a corridor and Iran’s unique geopolitical and strategic position, can contribute to the stability and development of the wider region, in particular the two continents of Asia and Europe.

Today, Iran, while fulfilling an important role in ensuring energy security and managing one of the world’s most sensitive maritime outlets, the Strait of Hormuz, together with the Sultanate of Oman, is moving to a new geopolitical position.

Iran’s defensive capability within a radius of two thousand kilometers from its borders confirms that it is not a state that can be excluded from the global balance.

At this stage, the first phase of my mission in Georgia ends with the experience of these 90 days.

In the report that I will present to Tehran today, I will propose ways of cooperation and relations with Georgia for the next 100-day period, in the hope that these ways will contribute to the expansion of multifaceted economic cooperation, the strengthening of regional stability, and the development of ties between peoples.

Etiquette requires that at the end of this 90-day cycle, I thank all official persons, economic and social actors, scientists, researchers, and the people I met in the streets and markets, as well as foreign diplomats in Tbilisi for generously sharing their experience,” the statement reads.
