A meeting is underway between the leaders of the “Opposition Alliance” and the British Ambassador. As alliance leaders told TV Pirveli, they plan to brief the ambassador about the alliance and seek targeted support from the international community.
“We intend to explain that the alliance’s goal is not only to defeat the regime, but also to restore public trust in democracy—and that is why we are starting with ourselves. This is a kind of democratic reset project. The second point is how we plan to defeat the regime, what our path to victory is, and specifically what we are asking from the international community along this path in order to achieve Russia’s defeat in this country and make Georgia part of the free world,” said the leader of the “Federalists,” Tamar Chergoleishvili.
At the same time, the Political Secretary of the “United National Movement,” Giorgi Baramidze, noted that the United Kingdom, like other friends of Georgia, supports the Georgian people in their aspiration for the country to be a civilized, peaceful, and European state.
“We are speaking with all of Georgia’s friends about how to save the country from this Russian-backed group of traitors and criminals that is leading Georgia toward isolation and toward Russia. The United Kingdom, like other friends of Georgia, supports the Georgian people so that Georgia becomes a civilized, peaceful, European, united, and prosperous country, and does not support this group cooperating with Russia,” Baramidze said.
