Procedures have begun in the Supreme Council of Adjara to approve the Chair of the Government of Adjara and the cabinet of ministers

At a bureau session held in the region’s legislative body, members of the majority referred the issue of approving the new chair of the government to committees and factions for consideration, setting April 27 as the deadline for discussions.

Next week, a plenary session will be held to approve the Chair of the Government of Adjara and the members of the cabinet, where a vote will take place.

A total of 11 votes from members of the Supreme Council of Adjara are required to approve the new government.

As reported, Zurab Pataradze has been nominated for the position of Chair of the Government of Adjara.

“By decision of the bureau, committee hearings will be held on Monday. Accordingly, the candidate for chair of the government and the ministerial nominees he has presented will introduce the government program, which the committees will review.

The procedures set out in the rules require the government to be approved at a plenary session.

Zurab Pataradze is well known to the population of our region, not only as a government chair but also as a successful diplomat who has served our country’s interests for years.

At this stage, no changes are planned in the cabinet of ministers,” said Tsotne Ananidze.
