Ministry of Foreign Affairs releases official information about meeting between Maka Botchorishvili and Pawel Herczynski

According to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a meeting between Minister Maka Botchorishvili and the EU Ambassador, Pawel Herczynski, the Minister underscored that the current policy of Brussels toward Georgia, as well as the steps taken and statements issued in relation to the country, undermine trust between the parties and adversely affect the Georgia-EU partnership.

According to the agency, Maka Botchorishvili also noted during the meeting that the Georgian government has consistently expressed its readiness for constructive dialogue and expects expects from the European Union an approach based on fairness and mutual respect.

“On 27 April 2026, the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, was summoned to a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili in connection with statements made during an event on Georgia held at the European External Action Service in Brussels.

At the meeting, the Minister underscored that the current policy of Brussels toward Georgia, as well as the steps taken and statements issued in relation to the country, undermine trust between the parties and adversely affect the Georgia-EU partnership.

Regrettably, the actions undertaken by Brussels can only be assessed as contributing to further polarization within Georgian society and as fostering a radicalized political agenda.

The Minister further noted that the Government of Georgia has consistently demonstrated its readiness for constructive dialogue and expects from the European Union an approach based on fairness and mutual respect”, reads the statement.
