Unfortunately, Kaja Kallas is taking the path of democracy backward - while we are being criticized for our democracy, she is ignoring the very foundations of democracy, - Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Issues, said in response to the statement of the High Representative of the European Union, Kaja Kallas.
According to him, Kaja Kallas is separating Georgian society and the government elected by it.
"Unfortunately, Kaja Kallas cannot claim to be truthful when this person separates Georgian society and the government elected as a result of its decision. This is a directly subversive activity from the point of view of democracy. Unfortunately, Kaja Kallas is taking the path of democracy's regression. While we are being criticized for our democracy, she is ignoring the very foundation of democracy. Unfortunately, the unelected bureaucracy does not represent the European people or European states, and their statements are also less noteworthy. When one of the European Commissioners speaks about the fact that Georgian legislation should not be respected and they are looking for ways to bring "black money" into the country, this is another clear example of the regression of democracy, which is unfortunate. That's why we say that Europe should return to the EU," Gorduladze said.
For information, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, said that the Georgian government is taking steps in the wrong direction. "Of course, we have certain issues with Georgia, given that the government is not actually taking steps when they say they want to join the EU. We see that they are taking steps in the wrong direction. This also gives us limitations, for example, in terms of allocating funding," she noted.
