‘National Movement’ is a red line for us, especially those ‘National Movement’ figures bought by ‘Dream’: Giga Parulava responds to Nika Gvaramia’s statement

“‘National Movement’ is a red line for us, especially those ‘National Movement’ members bought by ‘Dream,’” said Giga Parulava, a member of Parliament from the party For Georgia, in response to a question about whether their party could join the “Opposition Alliance.”

According to Giga Parulava, the issue has not been discussed and will not be discussed in the future. He also claims that the agenda of boycotting parties supports the political propaganda of Georgian Dream.

“We have said many times: ‘National Movement’ is a red line for us, especially those ‘National Movement’ members bought by ‘Dream.’ This was also confirmed by Kobakhidze and Mdinaradze, who openly admitted in a live broadcast how they planned and carried out October 4 through their embedded agents. There are many facts — from the State Security Service and relevant ‘Dream’ officials — about how they provide money to agents before or after elections. Their political agenda also shows that they act in favor of ‘Dream’s’ agenda.

Therefore, I repeat clearly: we are not interested in their agenda. They should deal with their own affairs. It has not been discussed, is not being discussed, and will not be discussed in the future,” said Giga Parulava.

When asked who he meant by “‘National Movement’ members bought by Georgian Dream,” he replied: “both former and new ‘National Movement’ members.”

He also stated that opposition forces should not attempt to divide society on national holidays.

“May 26 is our national holiday, where society should be united. It is completely unacceptable for any political force to divide society into enemies and friends, or positions and opposition, especially on such symbolic dates when all political actors should aim for consolidation. Therefore, if these boycott parties or other opposition forces have anything to offer, they should choose another date for such activities.

What I can say is that with this kind of agenda they are directly acting in favor of ‘Dream’s’ propaganda. When they say they are starting and ending on the 26th, it clearly mirrors what happened on October 4 — how it started and how it ended. Some political leaders began with political calls, and by the evening of October 4, some were at home, while confused citizens were left at barricades facing the police. Such actions are unacceptable for us.

If we judge by past events, especially October 4, it is clear how their proposed agenda damaged the political process and the state,” said Giga Parulava.
