Giorgi Jamdeliani, Bishop of Marneuli and Hujabi, wrote on social media calling on the public to join a fundraising marathon to help children suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
“I would like to respond to the initiative of a self-organized public group regarding assistance for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
During His earthly life, Our Lord Jesus Christ especially loved children because of their purity and kindness. The Savior embraced and blessed them. The Lord said: whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me. The Lord also teaches us that children must never be mistreated, for their angels in heaven always behold the face of My Heavenly Father.
I humbly ask every member of society - whether representatives of the business or private sector - who, by God’s grace, possesses financial resources, to join this movement.
The business sector itself can also organize similar fundraising marathons.
As you know, time is the decisive factor.
Therefore, let us unite in this God-pleasing cause, and through these acts of kindness, help our own souls as well.
