According to Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the 53rd Interpol European Regional Conference currently taking place in Toledo, Spain, member states voted by majority decision for Georgia to host the next - 54th Regional Conference in 2027.
The ministry stated that the decision once again highlights the effective and successful cooperation of Georgia’s law enforcement agencies with European partners, as well as the country’s growing role and credibility in international police cooperation.
The Georgian delegation attending the conference included Deputy Director of the Central Criminal Police Department Irakli Dondoladze, Head of Georgia’s Interpol National Central Bureau Giorgi Bolotashvili, and Police Attaché of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Kingdom of Spain Shalva Shubladze.
Before the vote, representatives of the Georgian delegation briefed conference participants on the significant results achieved by Georgian police in combating organized crime and drug-related crime, successful cooperation in international operations, and the modern capabilities of Georgia’s law enforcement system.
The conference scheduled to take place in Georgia in 2027 will be attended by representatives of Interpol’s General Secretariat and Executive Committee, as well as heads of law enforcement agencies from countries in the European region.
According to the ministry, hosting an international police event of this scale will significantly contribute to further strengthening partnership relations in the field of law enforcement.
