Police do not allow Opposition Alliance to bring in construction needed for the installation on Rustaveli Avenue - on the instructions of Goga Memanishvili, the minibus carrying the equipment was turned back

The Ministry of Internal Affairs does not allow the Opposition Alliance to install a stage for a rally planned near the territory of the Parliament.

Recently, one of the leaders of the Opposition Alliance, Nika Gvaramia, addressed the head of the Tbilisi Main Department of the Patrol Police, Goga Memanishvili, that after the event dedicated to Independence Day was completely over and citizens left Rustaveli Avenue, the opposition would place the necessary structures for the stage in front of the Parliament.

“When there is no more movement of people, then we will go in, we will install it. Nothing is happening here, if there are no more people, why are you refusing me? They told me that I filled out the application with specific shortcomings, I sent a new letter and there was no response. If there is no response by 19:00, we will come and you tell the reason,” Nika Gvaramia told Goga Memanishvili.

In turn, as Memanishvili replied, the Opposition Alliance received a response from the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the placement of the structures, therefore, now they will not be able to set up the structures to the parliament.

“You were refused in this regard. You cannot bring them in. If anything changes, we will inform you,” said Goga Memanishvili.
