The article states that Georgia’s increasingly authoritarian government threatens Trump’s Caucasus strategy.

The article focuses on US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Armenia, “which indicates how seriously the White House is taking the South Caucasus.”

“However, the Trump administration has one blind spot. Once a staunch US ally in the region, Georgia is becoming increasingly anti-American. Its government, led by the Georgian Dream, has been openly hostile to Russia for years at the expense of its Western ties.
