Foreign Ministry: Georgia’s position is known and it has never participated in 3+3 format meetings

Georgia will not participate in the upcoming “3+3 format” meeting to be held in Saint Petersburg.

As the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Interpressnews, the Georgian side has repeatedly stated its position on the matter and has never taken part in meetings under this format.

“Georgia’s position is known; the Georgian side has repeatedly stated it. Georgia has never participated in meetings of this format,” the Foreign Ministry noted.

For context, on June 5 a first expert-level meeting of the “3+3 format” (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Türkiye, and Iran) is expected to take place in Saint Petersburg.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin will participate in the meeting on behalf of Russia.

She stated that on June 5, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin will take part in the first expert-level meeting of the regional cooperation platform “3+3” — Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia, plus Russia, Iran, and Türkiye — held during the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.
