Another 14 individuals detained in connection with the events that took place near the Athoneli Palace on October 4 will be released today under plea agreements.
More specifically, in one of the case episodes, plea agreements will be approved for eight defendants: Aleksandre Khabeishvili, Beka Kelekhashvili, Giorgi Mumladze, Mamuka Labuchidze, Guriel Kardava, Avtandil Surmanidze, and Vakhtang Pitskhelauri. The court is scheduled to approve the agreements at 3:00 p.m., after which these individuals will be released directly from the courtroom.
In a second episode of the case, plea agreements are being concluded with six additional defendants: Giorgi Korkia, Giorgi Rurua, Khvicha Gogokhia, Levan Jikia, Lasha Ivanadze, and Sergo Megrelishvili.
A total of 64 individuals have been charged in connection with the October 4 events. At this stage, 21 defendants have admitted guilt and are therefore receiving plea agreements. Of those, eight individuals already had their plea agreements approved yesterday and were released directly from the courtroom following the hearing.
