There is no desire to settle relations with partners, there is only a desire to somehow shake hands with someone, take a photo, make a video, and then show it to their supporters, pretending to sort things out, - one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, Zurab Japaridze, told journalists at the city court, where the trial in the so-called sabotage case is scheduled.
As he noted, he has no information why the date of their trial was changed from June 24 to June 11.
"This process was supposed to be on June 24. Why they moved it to June 11, I don't know. It was supposed to be yesterday, but in the end, it was decided on June 11. It could be related to the Americans, it could be related to the European visa-free regime, because today there is a meeting at the technical level, where the issue of visa liberalization is being discussed. There are some other issues that it could be related to, but in any case, talking about it now will be purely speculation.
There is no desire to sort out relations with partners, there is only a desire to somehow shake someone's hand, take a photo, make a video, and then show it to their supporters, pretending that relations have been settled. There is no desire to settle relations. They will not do it out, they have already clearly explained it a hundred times. In the case of America, there are specific long-term economic interests in this country, and the pursuit of these economic interests requires American companies to enter this country. The entry of American companies in this country need the rule of law, an independent judiciary, and stability. This requires exactly what we want in this country - democracy, elections, lasting peace and stability, and the rule of law, an independent judiciary. We and America have the same interests,” Zura Japaridze said.
In addition, he spoke about the ongoing conflict in the opposition alliance, which is being reported in the media. According to Japaridze, there is no conflict in the alliance.
"I think this controversy is more in the media than in reality. There is no controversy in the Alliance, the Alliance works as usual. Some come and work, some are not there and do not work, but they say they work. I do not know where they work. The Alliance is based on a specific agreement, this is not some LLC or club that accepts someone and expels them. Some who work together work by following the rules, some who do not want to follow these rules do not work with us. There is no controversy, nothing. The story is in the media, nothing else. We will go into the hall and talk to each other as usual," Japaridze said.
