From the Georgian Parliament, the party For Georgia calls on the international community to condemn the Russian Federation's gross violation of international law and to stand firmly with the Georgian people in defending their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and European future, Giga Parulava, an MP from the For Georgia party, said during a briefing in Parliament.

According to him, Georgian Dream and none of its representatives will escape political and legal responsibility for the potentially grave consequences that may result from what he described as their criminal silence over the annexation process in the Tskhinvali region.

"The Russian Federation is accelerating the de facto annexation of the occupied Tskhinvali region, with the aim of incorporating Georgia's historic Samachablo region into the Russian Federation under the framework of a union treaty. This process includes the so-called Integration Agreement signed on May 9, 2026, the appointment of Gagloev as an adviser to Putin, and the appointment of Russian official Marat Kambalov as head of the occupation administration.

At the same time as these alarming developments targeting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the government and Prime Minister Kobakhidze have maintained criminal silence, effectively refusing to condemn the annexation process directed against Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity or to mobilize the international community to use international legal mechanisms to stop it.

Over the past several days, Georgian Dream has even gone so far as to accuse our international partners of violating Georgia's sovereignty, despite the fact that these partners have for decades been the principal guarantors of Georgia's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the non-recognition policy regarding the occupied territories. Placing such partners in the same political context as the Russian Federation - which occupies our territory through military aggression, has committed conventional crimes against our citizens for decades, and continues to disregard international law - causes irreparable damage to Georgia's national interests and to the trusted partnerships built over generations.

As a result of Georgian Dream's deliberately irresponsible foreign policy - including halting the country's European integration process, terminating the strategic partnership with the United States, disregarding international organizations, and alienating Georgia's friends and partners - the country is being left alone, vulnerable, and face-to-face with the Russian Federation.

Georgian Dream and none of its representatives will escape political and legal responsibility for the potentially grave consequences that may result from their criminal silence over the annexation of the Tskhinvali region. Therefore, we once again call on the authorities to take action, support the resolution we have introduced, and, at this critical moment for the country, secure international support.
