“Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili will attend the funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Iran together with the leaders of the region’s countries, including Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and other countries,” the President’s Administration stated.

For information: According to the Iranian news agency WANA News, following ceremonies in Tehran and Qom, the body of the deceased leader will be transferred to four cities in Iraq, then returned to Iran and buried in Mashhad.

According to the official schedule, the public farewell ceremony will begin on July 4 at 6:00 AM at Imam Khomeini Mosque in Tehran and will continue until 8:00 PM on July 5. The funeral prayer will be held on the morning of July 5. After the ceremonies in Tehran, Qom, and Iraq, the deceased leader will be buried in Mashhad on Thursday, July 9.
